SSAB has appointed Maria Långberg as its new Executive Vice President & Head of Communications and member of the Group Executive Committee from October 1, 2013. Helena Stålnert will leave the company to set up her own business, following the expiration of her current contract.

Prior to this she was a senior consultant at PR and communications firm JKL, having previously served as Senior Vice President & Head of Communications at med-tech company Gambro, where she was also a member of group management. Maria Långberg holds a degree in business administration from Uppsala University and an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics.

“We welcome Maria and are convinced that she will make a very positive contribution to the continued strong development of SSAB's communications activities,” says SSAB's CEO Martin Lindqvist.

Helena Stålnert began as Executive Vice President & Head of Communications at SSAB in the autumn of 2007. She has been responsible for the company brand, investor relations, as well as internal and external communications, and has been a member of the Group Executive Committee.

“Helena has made an exceptional contribution to the development of SSAB’s communication activities and has strongly contributed to the implementation of changes that we have carried out,” says SSAB's CEO Martin Lindqvist.

Helena Stålnert will continue to advise on communications issues through her own business, including continued collaboration with SSAB.

“It's very pleasing that we will be able to continue our positive cooperation in new ways,” says Martin Lindqvist.
