Eur 12 million steel structures from Rautaruukki for oriented strand board plant in Russia
Rautaruukki Oyj Stock Exchange Release 10.6.2008 at 13.30
Rautaruukki has signed a contract with Oris LLC to supply steel frame and
cladding structures for the company's first OSB (oriented strand board)
production plant in Russia. The plant will be located in Vostochny, about 200
kilometres to the northeast of Moscow. The contract is valued at almost EUR 12
million.
Deliveries of frame and cladding structures will begin in August and continue
until November 2008. Production at the new premises will start in February
2010. Oris is the biggest oriented strand board manufacturer in Russia
The steel structures will be made at Ruukki's plant in Obninsk.
"We chose Ruukki as our partner because they have extensive experience in
designing steel frame and cladding structures. Also their delivery reliability
and product quality influenced our choice," states Frank G. Baylow, Managing
